Harriet Tubman Silver Dollar Arrived!

After ordering it when it released in January, my Harriet Tubman Silver Dollar has finally arrived, and it looks amazing in person. I’m very impressed!

Harriet Tubman was an incredibly influential figure in American history, known for her pivotal role in the Underground Railroad, a network of secret routes and safe houses used by enslaved African-Americans to escape to free states and Canada. Tubman’s bravery and determination led to the liberation of hundreds of enslaved individuals, solidifying her legacy as a symbol of courage and humanitarianism.

The Harriet Tubman Silver Dollar features a portrait of Tubman on the obverse side, capturing her unwavering resolve and strength. The reverse side showcases a scene symbolizing the Underground Railroad, with Tubman extending her hand as a bridge to freedom, with the North Star guiding them.

This coin was easily my favorite of the Harriet Tubman commemorative series:

The Harriet Tubman Silver Dollar is still available at the US Mint website, here.
