Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Demo – Full Playthrough

This blog isn’t just about coins – we can have more than one hobby!

I finally got around to doing a full playthrough of the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Demo, “Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim,” which covers the entire Nibelheim story that Cloud is telling the group at Kalm, and I loved it. They really enhanced the relationships and the storyline in this one in a way that, while still amazing, isn’t as fleshed out in the original.

There’s also way more than enough callbacks to the original that fulfills all of the needs I have for nostalgia. Ending the demo at the iconic scene where Sephiroth is walking through the fire is an absolute chef’s kiss moment.

There’s a trailer at the end with more than enough content to leave me wanting more. We’re also going to get more demo content, with a Junon section of the demo titled “Dawn of a New Era in Junon” unlocking on February 21. Note that you’ll need to do your own full playthrough of “Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim” to unlock “Dawn of a New Era in Junon.”

Another perk aside from getting Junon access, is that players who have save data from the demo will receive a Kupo Charm and Survival Set once the full game releases, and you can opt to skip the “Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim” section in the main game. I haven’t decided whether or not I’m going to skip it or play it again, but I do like the option of saving a couple of hours if I want it.

The launch date for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is February 29th (yes – 2024 is a leap year).

For my video, I decided to speed up the parts where I’m exploring and fighting, and slow it down for the cut scenes. This trimmed about 45 minutes off the total video length. I was having some pretty severe input lag, which made the piano scene in Tifa’s house pretty painful to play and watch, but it’s all included.

Without further ado, here’s my full playthrough:
